At Left Write Hook, we aim to be clear and fair about how refunds and returns are handled across our programs, courses and online store. This policy outlines the process for:

Shop Orders

We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, or for non-apparel items, unless an item arrives damaged or faulty. This policy is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including your right to a refund or replacement for faulty or misrepresented goods.

Where Our Funding Comes From

We are funded through a mix of:

  • Philanthropic grants

  • Government and community partnerships

  • Individual donors

  • Program fees

  • Merchandise and fundraising events

Each dollar allows us to grow the reach and quality of our programs — and we are committed to using funds ethically and effectively.

How We Use Our Resources

We prioritise funding that directly supports:

  • Program delivery (facilitators, support workers, materials)

  • Mental health infrastructure (clinical systems, supervision, evaluation)

  • Community building and survivor engagement

  • Staff and volunteer training

  • Organisational capacity — because we can’t grow impact without investing in our people and systems

We don’t believe low overhead equals better impact. We invest thoughtfully in our team, tech, systems, and space so we can deliver long-term, sustainable programs.

Reporting & Financials

We submit annual reports to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). Our financials are independently reviewed or audited as required.
