End of year community event lead*
Role overview
Lead the planning and delivery of our end of year community event (November 2026, planning to commence in August 2026).

Hybrid (predominantly work-from-home with some event tasks needing to be performed on site, office space also available on Wednesdays and Fridays if preferred)

Key tasks
Work with relevant staff to scope and plan event
Create project management documents, budgets, task lists, runsheets and timelines
Manage ticketing and attendee communications
Create a marketing and communications plan, including draft communications to be reviewed by the Marketing & Engagement Officer
Liaise with venues and other stakeholders to secure licences, permits and venue bookings
Lead event check in meetings, ensuring all relevant team members are delivering their tasks on time
On-the-day event leadership, including coordinating volunteers and ensuring the event runs smoothly as per the brief and plan
Post-event reflections including a report of learnings
Estimated time commitment
~40-60 hours per event
This role will commence in August each year and run through until December, with the end of year community event itself being held in November.
Skills and experience
Must be confident using Squarespace, Meta, Canva, Hootsuite, Google Workspace, Monday.com, Mailchimp and Humanitix
Strong event and/or project management experience
Strong marketing, communications, copywriting and social media content creation skills
Graphic design experience highly regarded
Good communication, leadership and teamwork skills
Exceptionally organised with strong attention to detail and consistency
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
Access to reliable transport (public transport is fine)

Reporting and support
Reports to and is supported by the the Volunteer Coordinator
Works closely with Marketing & Engagement Officer, Donor & Marketing Communications Coordinator and relevant event staff
