Expanded financial support for survivors under FAS

Survivors living in Victoria may be eligible for up to $85,000 in financial support under the government’s Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS), formerly known as the Victims of Crime Assistance Scheme or VOCAT.

Survivors can apply for up to $25,000 for the impact of the crime and access up to $60,000 in recovery expenses, including therapy, alternative recovery programs like Left Write Hook, gym memberships and more.

Importantly, you no longer need a lawyer to submit an application, and you do not have to have reported the crime.

You can complete the application online with a signed statutory declaration to support your application.

A huge thank you to Jemma Mathers, Clinical Director and Owner of Bloom Well-Being, for generously sharing this information after our recent film screening in Ballarat.
