Two years on: The story continues
Two years ago, the Left Write Hook documentary premiered globally, bringing survivor voices to audiences across Australia and beyond.
What began as 8 survivors getting together in a gym to write about their experiences, share and practice boxing, turned into a documentary and has now grown to become something much bigger. It has sparked conversations, opened doors and has helped connect more survivors with community, creativity, strength and hope.
Over the past two years
118 screenings
Released on Netflix Australia
Distributed internationally
Screened at universities, communities and conferences
It has helped support more than 300 survivors through Left Write Hook programs
Thank you to everyone who’s attended our screenings and shared online, to our donors and partners helping spread awareness to the wider community.
And a big special thank you to director and producer Shannon Owen, producer and film participant Donna Lyon, film participants Dove, Claire, Gabrielle, Lauren, Nikki, Pixie, Julie some of who have also continued taking part in Q&As screenings across Australia and are now charity ambassadors.
You brought this to life.
While today marks two years since the documentary's global release, our work is far from over. With every new program we deliver and through every survivor we support we are reminded of the power of our stories and how we can create change, one person at a time.
We look forward to continuing this work together.
