We’re bringing Left Write Hook to Mildura

MSAU-MDVS has partnered with Northern Mallee Leaders to present a one-off screening of the multi award-winning documentary film, Left Write Hook.

The film follows the journey of eight survivors of childhood sexual abuse, as they take part in a unique trauma recovery program combining boxing and creative writing.

The film screening will be followed by a live Q&A with filmmaker and Left Write Hook charity Founder, Dr Donna Lyon.

Following the success of the film, program founder Dr Donna Lyon created a charity of the same name that has been delivering the innovative writing and boxing program to victim/survivors since 2022.

To date the Left Write Hook has run 20+ programs, supported 120+ victim/survivors, and is currently working with the University of Melbourne on a multi-year research trial to measure the effectiveness of the program.

Left Write Hook will also be running a program for victim/survivors based in Mildura and surrounding districts starting on 17 July.

Places in the program are limited. If you, or someone you know, may be interested in taking part, we encourage you to attend the film screening to find out more.
