This month marks an exciting milestone for Left Write Hook as we officially complete our Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) in partnership with the University of Melbourne.

Last week we had the screening of the award-winning Left Write Hook documentary in Frankston to raise community awareness and share in preparation for our upcoming Frankston men's program. We had an amazing turnout and a great response!

Last month Documentary Australia announced that the Left Write Hook documentary is now available on DocAccess for screening in communities and organisations. 

On Tuesday, 21 July, our founder and CEO, Dr. Donna Lyon, will join Sarah Rosenberg, co-founder of With You We Can, for a powerful conversation about the realities survivors of sexual abuse face in recovery and the courtroom and what real change can look like.

At the end of March, we wrapped up our first interstate program in the Sunshine Coast. This represents a huge step for Left Write Hook and will be the first of many interstate programs as we work to reach survivors across the country.

We are now accepting expressions of interest for our upcoming women and gender-diverse programs in Ballarat and Mildura.

On Saturday our Head of Operations, Maryanne Dib, stepped back into the ring after 12 years. Maryanne came in strong, and it was said and done within the first round. It was beautiful to see the Left Write Hook community gathered to support her and we are glowing with pride at her win. Congratulations, Maryanne!

They discuss creativity and presence in both writing and movement and highlight the importance of choice.

On 18 April, Maryanne, our Head of Operations at Left Write Hook and past alumni, will step back into the boxing ring for the first time in 12 years. Her return represents the long-term impact of survivor-led, trauma-informed practice.
