April screenings of the documentary
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. While we believe in raising awareness all year round, this is an important date to talk about how sexual violence and abuse can affect our lives and the lives of the people in our community.
Our award-winning documentary, Left Write Hook, follows the journey of a group of survivors and it not only shows us the impacts of childhood sexual abuse has had on them, but also how taking part in our 8-week program, combining trauma-aware creative writing and non-contact boxing, can bring a new hope, strength, connection and recovery.
We’re working hard to bring more screenings to the community, so next month you can expect:
11 April: La Trobe Art Institute, Bendigo.
This screening is being presented in partnership with CASA Central Victoria (CASACV). Join us for a one-off screening of our documentary, followed by a live Q&A featuring film participants, filmmakers and local sector representatives to be confirmed.
