Left Write Hook comes to Canberra for 16 Days of Activism
We’re very excited to be heading to Canberra this November for a special Q&A screening of our award-winning documentary Left Write Hook, presented in partnership with Canberra Rape Crisis Centre (CRCC) and The Snow Foundation.
On Tuesday 24 November, this free screening will bring together the Canberra community for an evening of film, conversation and connection for 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
This will be a great opportunity to hear from some of the people behind the documentary, including the filmmakers, participants featured in the film and past participants of the Left Write Hook program.
Together, they’ll share more about the documentary, the program and what survivor-led recovery, resilience and survivor leadership can look like.
Coming together for 16 Days of Activism
The screening takes place on the eve of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on 25 November, which marks the beginning of the global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
For us, the 16 Days are an important opportunity to centre the voices and experiences of survivors, raise awareness of gender-based violence in the wider community, advocate and create space for conversations about recovery, resilience and future change.
CRCC has been supporting survivors of sexual violence in the ACT for the past 50 years, and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside their team and The Snow Foundation to bring these important conversations to Canberra.
Will you join us for this free screening? We’d love to see you there!
