Reaching more survivors, together

This October, we commenced our first Left Write Hook program in collaboration with Turning Point Eastern Health, a leading Australian centre for addiction treatment, education and research.

This partnership marks an exciting opportunity to explore how our survivor-led writing and boxing program can be delivered within an established specialist service, creating new possibilities for reaching and supporting more survivors.

Bringing together the expertise of both organisations, we're trialling how different approaches can complement one another by creating additional pathways for recovery with lived experience at the heart of our work.

For our Founder and CEO, Dr Donna Lyon, this partnership is particularly meaningful as Donna brings her own lived experience of addiction to the program, which she is personally leading.

“I'm incredibly excited about what this partnership represents. I started conversations with Turning Point over two years ago. They saw the film at MIFF and Associate Professor Shalini Arunogiri, who is the Clinical Director of Statewide Services at Turning Point, reached out to me and said, 'how can we get Left Write Hook into our service".
Turning Point saw the innovation and value in our model and worked hard with us to get a program up and running. The collaboration has been so wonderful and I am deeply grateful for the work Turning Point do to empower victim-survivors and those experiencing addiction.”

We're looking forward to learning from this collaboration and exploring what it could make possible for the future of Left Write Hook.

Thank you to the Turning Point Eastern Health team for joining us on this journey!
