We’re coming back to Ballarat!
We’re excited to share that Left Write Hook is coming back to Ballarat with more survivor support.
This includes our first dedicated youth program.
Following a community vote at its Pick our Project event, Ballarat Women’s Fund is helping us bring Reclaim, Rewrite, Release: A Ballarat Prevention Pilot to the community. This pilot program is adapted and aimed at supporting young women and gender-diverse survivors aged 16 to 24 through our creative writing and non-contact boxing program, to help them reclaim their stories alongside others.
“Today, young people are naming harm earlier than previous generations, yet many still struggle to find support that feels accessible, relevant and safe. Support that helps them rebuild a sense of self before trauma shapes their adult lives.” - Dr Lauren Matthews. Artist, activist, researcher and survivor.
Additionally, we are grateful to receive funding from The Social Inclusion Ballarat Fund. As part of their work to strengthen connection, inclusion, and belonging across Ballarat, their support will allow us to deliver another program for adult women and gender-diverse survivors in the area.
We’re incredibly grateful to both funders, Ballarat CASA and the larger community for continuing to back this important work.
Stay tuned for more details and dates or register your interest and we’ll be in touch.
